Beauty Direction


The attention to detail will be the key task when it comes to makeup and hair, and the extremely appropriate selection of wigs. Each character will represent different stories, so will require another characterisation to capture the viewer’s attention. Each character will be unveiled in a few poses and placed in different locations. Makeup will be adapted to each character, theatrical, quite intense and a little blurred depending on the heroine.  Each character will require a different styling, props and costume. Each image will be charged with emotion, combining dark fantasy with images alluding to death, isolation, intimacy, and strength. Each character will need special models, which will be suitable for that role.

Encountered problems

From the beginning my project started in the wrong direction, the intentions which I planned in the proposal to the end did not come out. Starting on the financial reasons that exceeded my expectations being affordable. The wigs and costumes for the ballerina were too expensive, the prices were high, and the option of hiring a professional photo studio were higher than my expectations. Important to mention the extra thing for a photo session, so most of my pictures were taken in the studio at the University. When doing makeup, I like to work in silence and without haste of looking where the make-up products are and having to keep some of them in hand because I could not reach them.  Unfortunately, the photographic studios were very often overcrowded with students. To take images I wanted to use ladders, vintage chairs as well as smoke to get the best out of the model. Unfortunately, it also failed due to expenses and limited time of the photo session.
