Feedback from Russell & Sebastian

On March 14, I had a formal presentation of my project with Sebastian and Russell.On this presentation, I presented my entire project, from mood board to accessories, poses to the session where it will be done, what kind of lighting I will use as well as makeup and hairstyle.


Russell and Sebastian advised me to take a photo of the choreography by using the small camera the cradle to the wrist. During model dance moves it encodes movements in which normal shots do not capture the blur effect. Sebastian also gave me references to the famous ballets on which my research can be resisted. After seeing the short films with Martha Graham and Matthew Bourne, I knew how to organise everything. It was one of my only tutorials on which I went.

Encountered problems

From the beginning my project started in the wrong direction, the intentions which I planned in the proposal to the end did not come out. Starting on the financial reasons that exceeded my expectations being affordable. The wigs and costumes for the ballerina were too expensive, the prices were high, and the option of hiring a professional photo studio were higher than my expectations. Important to mention the extra thing for a photo session, so most of my pictures were taken in the studio at the University. When doing makeup, I like to work in silence and without haste of looking where the make-up products are and having to keep some of them in hand because I could not reach them.  Unfortunately, the photographic studios were very often overcrowded with students. To take images I wanted to use ladders, vintage chairs as well as smoke to get the best out of the model. Unfortunately, it also failed due to expenses and limited time of the photo session.
